But on Feb. 24 the Ashe County Huskies trailed early and, despite a 28-point fourth quarter, were down by more than 10 for most of the game and trailed by more than 25 in the second half. Ashe County took a brief 4-2 lead early in the game after baskets by juniors Mallary Clay and Lizzie Hanes, but Bandys responded with a 14-0 run over the next six minutes. By the end of the first quarter the Huskies trailed 16-6.

I've got a lot of time to read in the winter, and I love curling up on the couch with a good book, some cherry Hershey Kisses and the fuzzy blanket my kids gave me for my birthday. Here's what I've been reading lately. Over the summer, one of my librarian friends recently introduced me to a great chick-lit author, Harriet Evans.

....In the Spring of 1865, Pvt Tom Dula, newly released from a union prisoner of war camp, returned to his home in the Wilkesboro area of North Carolina. He soon re-acquainted himself to Ann Melton...with whom he'd been involved before the war..(at age fifteen). If local lore can be believed he often spent the night in her bed as her husband James slept alone a few feet away.
